As a member of the firm's Construction and Commercial litigation Practice Group, Mr. Roper concentrates his practice in the areas of construction and general business litigation. Mr. Roper's construction practice includes issues involving payment bonds, delays, extra work, professional negligence, federal claims, and property damage claims in commercial and residential projects. Besides his construction litigation experience, Mr. Roper has experience litigating general business disputes, real estate claims, and closely held business disputes. Mr. Roper's litigation experience includes litigation in the state and federal courts in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Colorado. Mr. Roper is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Assocation, the Virgina State Bar, the Allegheny County Bar Association. Mr. Roper is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Virginia, the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the Eastern and Western District of Virginia. Mr. Roper received his undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Roper earned a B.A. in Political Science and History with Honor and with Highest Distinction from UNC-CH in 1997. As a result of his undergraduate achievements, Mr. Roper was inducated into Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Eta Sigma, and Phi Sigma Alpha. Mr. Roper received his juris doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2000, where he was actively involved in the school moot court program. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Roper practiced in Virginia and Pennsylvania. As a result of his professional accomplishments Mr. Roper was recogized as a Virginia "Rising Star" in Business Litigation for the years 2008 and 2009.
