One of the founding partners of the firm, Mr. Blumling concentrates his practice in construction, real estate and development, land use and zoning, surety and environmental law. He represents a significant number of contractors, developers and surety companies regionally, nationally and internationally. He has extensive first chair experience in jury trials and arbitrations. He also advises clients on contract drafting and negotiating, as well as project insurance and other risk management requirements.
Mr. Blumling is a member of the American Bar Association and its Construction and Surety Section, Forum on the Construction Industry, and Environmental and Real Estate Sections; the Pennsylvania Bar Association and its Construction Section; Allegheny County Bar Association and its Construction Law Committee, Real Estate, Commercial Law, Environmental, Bankruptcy, and Civil Litigation Sections; and numerous construction, real estate development and financial organizations. Mr. Blumling is a frequent speaker to many industry groups regarding construction and development issues.
Mr. Blumling received his B.A. from Princeton University in 1979 and his J.D. in 1982 from the University of Pittsburgh. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania; the U.S. District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania; the U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit; and has appeared before numerous federal and state courts and administrative bodies in many other jurisdictions. He has also been selected by his peers to be included in the national listing of The Best Lawyers in America since 2001.
