Mr. Carl
is the Partner in charge of commercial, corporate,
real estate law and estate planning at Blumling & Gusky,
LLP. Mr. Carl counsels diverse local, national and international businesses
and individuals
Mr. Carl
advises clients on general corporate and commercial matters including
choice of entity issues, mergers and acquisitions, borrowings, finance,
management, contracting and business succession. Mr. Carl negotiates, documents and closes all
types of real estate transactions. He handles and litigates land use and zoning
issues. He is a licensed title agent for First American Title Insurance
Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company and United General.
Mr. Carl works with his business and individual clients to develop
estate-planning objectives including business succession, minimizing
of estate and inheritance tax liability, preserving family assets,
supporting charitable interests, providing for minors and individuals
with special needs and developing wills and trusts documents to
achieve those objectives. In addition, he handles all types of estate administration matters. He also
litigates Orphan's Court matters including will contests,
guardianships, adoptions and estate administration disputes.
Mr. Carl previously served as Chairman
of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Committee for Individuals with
Disabilities and has participated in the drafting of Pennsylvania
Guardianship and Living Wills Statutes.
Mr. Carl
is a Member of the American Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar
Association and their Business Law and Real Property, Probate and
Trust Sections. He is also a member of the Allegheny County
Bar Association. Mr. Carl was named as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in 2005 by Law and Politics. He is an adjunct professor at Duquesne University.
Mr. Carl
received his B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1979 and his
J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1982.
